Inpatient services mean staying at the hospital so that you receive rehabilitation and medical care continuously, day and night. This suits patients who need intensive daily therapy, close medical supervision, or round-the-clock nursing while they recover. Outpatient rehabilitation is for patients who are well enough to live at home and come to the hospital for scheduled therapy sessions. Many patients begin as inpatients and continue as outpatients as they grow stronger — the two are stages of one recovery journey, not separate services.
We have three facilities in the Kingdom, providing 420 beds in total. Cambridge Hospital Dhahran, with 70 beds, provides specialized rehabilitation and extended care in the Eastern Province. Cambridge Hospital Al Khobar, with 150 beds, is a purpose-built rehabilitative hospital offering post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care through coordinated specialist teams. Cambridge Hospital Jeddah, with 200 beds, was the first standalone extended-care facility in the Western Province and provides rehabilitation, long-term care, and intensive care.
Inpatient rehabilitation is usually recommended after a serious illness, injury, or operation — most commonly following a stroke, a traumatic or acquired brain injury, a spinal cord injury, major surgery, a road traffic accident, or a long stay in intensive care. It also supports patients with complex medical needs and those requiring long-term care. It is the right setting when a patient needs more therapy and medical oversight than can safely be provided at home or in a clinic. We care for both adults and children.
Yes. Our Saudi facilities provide clinically managed extended care for patients with complex medical needs, including patients transferring from intensive care elsewhere who require close medical supervision alongside their rehabilitation. Please contact us with the patient’s clinical details and our admissions team will confirm which of our facilities can best meet their needs.
There is no standard length of stay, because it depends on the condition, the patient’s goals, and how recovery progresses. At admission, your team agrees clear, individual goals with you and your family and reviews them regularly. You will be cared for by a multidisciplinary team that can include rehabilitation physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, psychologists, and a case manager who coordinates your care and keeps you informed at every stage.
Outpatient services are specialist consultations and therapy for patients who live at home and visit us for scheduled appointments. They suit patients who are medically stable but still need expert rehabilitation — whether continuing recovery after an inpatient stay, recovering from an injury or an operation, or managing a long-term condition.
Outpatient care includes specialist consultations alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy for both adults and children, supported by dedicated rehabilitation therapy facilities. Children are seen through dedicated pediatric rehabilitation pathways. The services available at each hospital are listed on that facility’s page.
No. Many of our outpatients have never been admitted to one of our hospitals — they come to us for rehabilitation after an injury, an operation, or a diagnosis elsewhere. You can be referred by your doctor, or contact us directly on 920013122.
Your therapist will recommend a schedule based on your assessment and your goals, commonly one or more sessions a week over a period of weeks or months. Progress is reviewed regularly and the plan is adjusted as you improve, so you will always know what you are working towards and how you are progressing.
Yes. Our home health care teams bring clinical and rehabilitation services into the patient’s own home in Saudi Arabia. Services can include skilled nursing — such as wound care, tube feeding, catheter and tracheostomy care, medication management, and intravenous therapy — as well as respiratory therapy including oxygen, nebulization, and ventilator management; home physiotherapy and occupational therapy; and physician home visits. Care is delivered by licensed teams to the same clinical standards as in our hospitals.
It supports patients returning home after surgery or a hospital stay, patients continuing their recovery after a rehabilitation program, and patients living with long-term or complex conditions who are better cared for at home. We care for adults, adolescents, and children — and you can arrange home care whether or not you have been treated at one of our hospitals before.
Call 920013122 or contact us through this website. We will arrange an assessment of the patient’s clinical needs and home environment, then build a care plan around them, and confirm what your insurance covers or explain self-pay options where needed.
Your recovery matters to us, and we are with you every step of the journey.
