Overview

Cambridge Hospital provides specialized inpatient pediatric rehabilitation across multiple locations.

Our multidisciplinary teams bring together the expertise and resources children need to reach their developmental potential, with care designed around each child and their family.  Our physicians understand how cognitive and physical disabilities affect a child’s growth and  development, and use that understanding to design individualized treatment programs tailored to each child’s specific rehabilitation goals.

Working as an interdisciplinary team — physicians and therapists together — we provide continuity of care that supports each child’s successful reintegration into home, school, and community life.

The primary  objective  is always to restore function and improve quality of life. 

Conditions we support

Across our pediatric programs, we address a wide range of developmental and functional needs, including:

• Movement impairment
• Sensory processing disorder
• Speech and language impairment
• Behavioral difficulties
• Developmental delay

We provide specialized, condition-specific rehabilitation for children with:

• Cerebral palsy
• Developmental delay
• Prematurity (support for premature infants)
• Brain injury (traumatic, hypoxic, and non-traumatic)
• Failure to thrive
• Down syndrome and other chromosomal conditions
• Musculoskeletal injuries, deformities, and congenital conditions (such as spina bifida)

Our specialized services also include the management of spasticity and gait abnormalities, and feeding and swallowing difficulties.
