Overview
Post-acute care is short-term, time-limited inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from a stable acute illness or injury. At Cambridge Hospital, it supports recovery after stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, major surgery, road traffic accidents, and other acute events that affect mobility, function, and independence.
Our post-acute rehabilitation is delivered by an interdisciplinary team — physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists — working together within one structured pathway. Through personalized care plans and measurable rehabilitation goals, we work to maximize self-sufficiency, minimize the impact of impairment, and help each patient return to normal or near-normal function as fully and as quickly as possible.
