We work with a wide network of insurance providers in the United Arab Emirates: Thiqa Insurance, Daman Insurance, Abu Dhabi National Insurance, NextCare Insurance, Neuron Insurance, Al Madallah Healthcare Management, SAICO Insurance, Enaya Insurance. Please contact us with your insurance details and our team will confirm whether your plan is accepted, explain what it covers, and set out self-pay options where needed.

Yes, and we encourage it. Families are part of the rehabilitation team: they take part in setting goals, receive training and education so they can support care safely at home, and are kept informed throughout.

Our rehabilitation programs are accredited by CARF International, the global benchmark for rehabilitation and extended care, and our UAE facilities are accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI). Our laboratory services are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). We also hold ADHICS certification for healthcare information and cyber security, OSHAD certification for occupational safety and health, and take part in the Department of Health Abu Dhabi’s JAWDA healthcare quality program.

Inpatient services mean staying at the hospital so that you receive rehabilitation and medical care continuously, day and night. This suits patients who need intensive daily therapy, close medical supervision, or round-the-clock nursing while they recover. Outpatient rehabilitation is for patients who are well enough to live at home and come to the hospital for scheduled therapy sessions. Many patients begin as inpatients and continue as outpatients as they grow stronger — the two are stages of one recovery journey, not separate services.

We have three facilities in the United Arab Emirates. Cambridge Hospital Abu Dhabi, our flagship UAE facility, has 106 beds and provides inpatient rehabilitation, post-acute recovery, long-term care, ventilator support, and pediatric rehabilitation. Cambridge Hospital Al Ain has 109 beds and provides inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care through adult and pediatric pathways, extending specialized care across Al Ain and the surrounding areas. The Al Mudeef Center in Abu Dhabi has 80 beds and provides long-term care and rehabilitation for adolescents and adults with complex medical and mental disabilities, delivered through a public-private partnership with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination.

Inpatient rehabilitation is usually recommended after a serious illness, injury, or operation — most commonly following a stroke, a traumatic or acquired brain injury, a spinal cord injury, major surgery, a road traffic accident, or a long stay in intensive care. It also supports patients with complex medical needs and those requiring long-term care. It is the right setting when a patient needs more therapy and medical oversight than can safely be provided at home or in a clinic. We care for both adults and children.

Yes. Our Abu Dhabi and Al Ain facilities each have a Transitional Ventilator Care Unit and structured weaning programs for patients who arrive on mechanical ventilation, including patients transferring from intensive care elsewhere. The aim is to reduce or remove ventilator dependence wherever it is clinically possible, and to provide safe, skilled long-term ventilated care where it is not.

There is no standard length of stay, because it depends on the condition, the patient’s goals, and how recovery progresses. At admission, your team agrees clear, individual goals with you and your family and reviews them regularly. You will be cared for by a multidisciplinary team that can include rehabilitation physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, psychologists, and a case manager who coordinates your care and keeps you informed at every stage.

Outpatient services are specialist consultations and therapy for patients who live at home and visit us for scheduled appointments. They suit patients who are medically stable but still need expert rehabilitation — whether continuing recovery after an inpatient stay, recovering from an injury or an operation, or managing a long-term condition.

Outpatient care includes specialist consultations alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy for adults and children. Our UAE facilities are equipped with outpatient rehabilitation gyms, including separate male, female, and pediatric gyms; gait analysis and mobility therapy; and sensory rooms. Cambridge Hospital Al Ain also has hydrotherapy pools for both adults and children. Children are seen through dedicated pediatric rehabilitation pathways.

No. Many of our outpatients have never been admitted to one of our hospitals — they come to us for rehabilitation after an injury, an operation, or a diagnosis elsewhere. You can be referred by your doctor, or contact us directly on 800-692273.

Your therapist will recommend a schedule based on your assessment and your goals, commonly one or more sessions a week over a period of weeks or months. Progress is reviewed regularly and the plan is adjusted as you improve, so you will always know what you are working towards and how you are progressing.

Yes. Our home health care teams bring clinical and rehabilitation services into the patient’s own home across the United Arab Emirates. Services can include skilled nursing — such as wound care, tube feeding, catheter and tracheostomy care, medication management, and intravenous therapy — as well as respiratory therapy including oxygen, nebulization, and ventilator management; home physiotherapy and occupational therapy; and physician home visits. Care is delivered by licensed teams to the same clinical standards as in our hospitals.

It supports patients returning home after surgery or a hospital stay, patients continuing their recovery after a rehabilitation program, and patients living with long-term or complex conditions who are better cared for at home. We care for adults, adolescents, and children — and you can arrange home care whether or not you have been treated at one of our hospitals before.

Call 800-692273 or contact us through this website. We will arrange an assessment of the patient’s clinical needs and home environment, then build a care plan around them, and confirm what your insurance covers or explain self-pay options where needed.

In-school care is a medically led therapy program delivered inside a child’s school rather than in a clinic. Our clinicians work on site so that therapy fits into the school day, in the environment where the child learns, plays, and interacts with other children. The program is delivered in Abu Dhabi.

The program provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy under medical oversight, for children whose developmental, physical, or communication needs affect how they take part in school life. Therapists work alongside teachers and families towards shared, measurable goals, and our teams support children in Arabic and English.

Schools can contact us directly to discuss a program on their site, and parents can contact us on 800-692273 to ask whether the program is available at their child’s school. We begin with an assessment of the child’s needs and agree goals with the family and the school before therapy starts.
